The MARS ROVER model kit is an incredibly detailed, etched model that's a lot of fun and satisfying to put together. It starts with four 4-inch square sheets of steel and ends with a 3D model. Simply use the easy-to-follow instructions included with the sheet to extract the pieces, bend the tabs, and connect them at the attachment points. No glue or soldering is required.

Mars Exploration Rover NASA's twin rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, launched separately in 2003 and landed three weeks apart in January 2004. They made important discoveries about wet environments on ancient Mars that may have been favorable for supporting microbial life. Although Spirit stopped communicating with Earth in March 2010, Opportunity continues its work on the Red Planet.
