The GOLDEN HIND model kit is an incredibly detailed etched model that is a lot of fun and satisfying to put together. It starts with four 4-inch square sheets of steel and ends in a 3D model. Simply use the easy-to-follow instructions included with the sheet to extract the pieces, bend the tabs, and connect them at the fixing points. No glue or soldering is required.

The Golden Hind or Hinde was an English galleon best known for its circumnavigation of the globe between 1577 and 1580, captained by Sir Francis Drake. She was originally known as the Pelican, but Drake renamed her mid-voyage in 1578, as he was preparing to enter the Strait of Magellan, calling her the Golden Hind to compliment her skipper, Sir Christopher Hatton, whose coat of arms was a golden hind (a female doe). Hatton was one of the main sponsors of Drake's world voyage.
